Allocation of Funding & Call for Concepts 3rd Funding Round: Label Funding 2023

The recipients of the second funding round 2023 in the Label Funding Programme are determined – Musicboard Berlin awards a total of 21,930.00 € to six projects. At the same time, the third and final funding round in 2023 begins, with an application deadline on 15 August 2023 at 6:00 p.m.

Within the Label Funding programme, Musicboard Berlin regularly grants indirect artist funding to label operators who are planning specific steps to establish newcomer artists based in Berlin. The funding is awarded upon recommendation of an independent jury of Berlin-based pop experts and in consultation with the Senate Department for Culture and Community. In 2023, the jury appointed to the Label Funding programme consists of Ji-Hun Kim (chief editor Das Filter, freelance lecturer, DJ, music producer), Thien Nguyen (label owner, DJ, music and film producer), Pamela Owusu-Brenyah (A&R, Music Consultant and Curator Pop-Kultur Festival), and Katja Lucker (Managing Director of Musicboard Berlin GmbH).

6 PROJECTS SUPPORTED WITH A TOTAL OF 21,930.00 €

Musicboard Berlin is pleased to announce the funded projects of the second application period of the Label Funding programme 2023. Out of 33 applications received with a total volume of 162,829.05 €, the expert jury has selected six projects that are supported with a total of 21,930.00 €:

In addition to meeting the formal criteria, the jury places importance to taking into account the diversity of Berlin’s musical landscape and ensuring gender-equitable funding

With the announcement of the funded projects of the second application period, the online application process of the third application period begins. The application deadline is 15 August 2023 at 6 p.m. The allocation of funding is subject to the availability of funds.
