Musicians receive financial support for a certain period of time.
This allows them to concentrate solely on music.
On new ideas and works.

Musicboard Berlin does more than provide information about pop music.
We also organise our own events.

We do two festivals.
They are called Pop-Kultur and Fête de la Musique.
Fête de la Musique is French
Translated, it means: Festival of Music.
This is how you pronounce the name: Fett day la mu-zeek.

Pop-Kultur is an international festival.
International means:
There are artists from many different countries.

It always takes place once a year.
At a place called the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin.
Kulturbrauerei is German for culture brewery.
The place used to be a brewery.
Now it is used for cultural events like Pop-Kultur.
The festival is organised by Musicboard Berlin.

The Fête de la Musique is a festival.
It always takes place on 21 June.
This day is the beginning of summer.
And it is the longest day of the year.

The Fête de la Musique is a celebration of music.
Everyone can join in and celebrate.
All musicians.
Hobby musicians and professionals.
Old and young musicians.
No matter what kind of music they make.
They perform in many places.
On streets, plazas and in parks.
They share their music with friends, neighbours and strangers.

The concerts are free to attend.
The Fête de la Musique has been around since 1982.
It is celebrated all over the world.
In 120 countries.
In more than 1,000 cities.
Berlin has been part of it since 1995.

• There are accessible bathrooms at our events.

There are now 10 people in our team.
They have different responsibilities.
