With the podcast series Transculture Express, the Neukölln collective Artistania offers a community platform to the musicians and music lovers who would regularly meet at the Artistania event space before the pandemic. Music fans had the opportunity to explore innovative music from the neighbourhood, musicians could meet each other in jam sessions and moderated talks, and players from the event industry had the chance to network and develop joint strategies for post-pandemic times. In terms of content, the collective focussed on making underrepresented gender and BIPOC minorities heard within the music industry, questioning postcolonial structures and exploring musical influences from the Global South. Guests included Jamila Al-Yousef and her producer Naima Husseini, Mandhla, La By’le and Nashi44.
