DJ and producer Happy New Tears plays machine-processed music for the melancholy self. Her sets are always brimming with atmospheric, emotional, genre-defying music, inviting you to dissolve into her sonic world. Based in Berlin, the Zambian-Dutch artist started producing with the support of Berlin Community Radio and is affiliated with No Shade, the club night series and DJ training programme for female, non-binary and trans people based in Berlin. She’s previously shared the bill with acts such as Objekt, Mechatok, Rui Ho, quest?onmarc, Jesse Osborne-Lanthier, Swan Meat, Dasychira and Rabih Beaini. She also curates a quarterly playlist for CTM along with Born In Flamez and scores sonic pieces for spatial installations.
In 2021, Happy New Tears is receiving a grant of 3,600 euros for the finalisation of the track ›Where The Willow Weeps‹ and the production of its music video.
