Call for Concepts: 1st Funding Round 2022

Musicboard Berlin is pleased announce that the application forms for the first funding round of the programmes Festival Funding, Karrieresprungbrett Berlin and Pop im Kiez for the 2022 funding year have been activated. Up until the application deadline on November 1, 2021, organisers of Berlin pop music festivals, especially those who focus on up-and-coming talent in music, can apply for the Festival Funding programme. Projects and platforms that support up-and-coming talent through a series of concerts, workshops or interdisciplinary formats in order to facilitate significant leaps towards a professional, national and international career can apply for the programme Karrieresprungbrett Berlin. The Pop im Kiez funding programme is aimed at projects that make a contribution towards the acceptance of live pop music in a particular Berlin neighbourhood.

DIVERSITY IN MUSICBOARD FUNDING

We are looking forward to receiving creative and innovative applications, which represent the social and cultural diversity of Berlin’s music scene. Musicboard places great importance on the funding of projects with plural perspectives, that implement gender-balanced and diverse line-ups as well as accessibility policies.

Applicants can find out about possible accessibility measures before submitting an application in our Online Session – Accessible Cultural Events. The event will be held on October 7, 2021 from 4 to 6 pm by Berlinklusion, Berlin’s network for accessibility in art and culture. Detailed information about the event can be found here and in the Facebook event for those interested.

Since the 2021 funding year, Musicboard has also made it possible for selected projects to receive advice on the topics of accessibility and inclusion from experts. Applicants who wish to receive such support can register this need directly in the application form in order to be selected for consultation.

APPLICATION MODALITIES

In preparation for a new application tool that we will be launching soon, a new set of questions has been created. This questionnaire contains a series of statistical queries designed to capture Musicboard’s current impact and ensure that our funding reaches diverse groups. Musicboard stands for a respectful approach to diversity and is committed to promoting various identities. Applicants are not required to provide any information. The data will be completely anonymised and used exclusively for evaluation by Musicboard Berlin GmbH. The data will not be passed on to the jury as part of the selection process. If you have any critical comments or suggestions, we would be pleased to receive your mail.

Submitted projects can be implemented from the beginning of the year 2022 – provided that Musicboard’s necessary budget resources are available for project funding in due course. When submitting your application, please note the updated application modalities in the digital application system and use only the template provided by Musicboard for your specifications of costs. We have collected frequently asked questions about applying for the respective funding programmes for you. Please read these FAQs and the other information on our website carefully and contact us in time if you have any questions.

The second funding round for Karrieresprungbrett Berlin and Pop im Kiez with the application deadline of April 1, 2022 will be announced in 2022.
