Tucké Royale and Hans Unstern founded BOIBAND in early 2016 with Black Cracker as producer. Boy with I stands for the problematization of manhood, for the acceptance of pregnant daddies, for the effeminization of the occident and for gestures of welcome to trans*people. With its songs, BOIBAND accelerates a social transition into a new age and twists band standards: first the tour is booked, then the cast is put together and finally the songs are written, which only take on their perfect form a few days before their premiere. Therefore, BOIBAND has no specific sound, and yet the corners and edges of the amorous triangle BOIBAND have long been clear: The »eccentric radical chansonnier« and »language skeptic« Hans Unstern, the »performance wunderkind« and »heptathlete of the subculture« Tucké Royale, and the »7 trillion dollar face« Black Cracker as producer and remixer, »Berlin’s hottest hip hop artist of those times!«
For 2016, BOIBAND is receiving a grant in the amount of 5,000 euros.
