tuftyhead is a dark-disco duo based in Berlin. In early 2018, Max Hirtz-Wolf, composer and originator, moved from his home of Berkeley, California, to explore his German heritage and to pursue his musical aspirations. The first bedroom-single garnered significant attention on SoundCloud, professional inquiries from the likes of Majestic Casual and airplay on French radio. With this momentum, and with the partnership of songwriter and Berlin native Noah Kohn, tuftyhead became a tangible force. For 2020, the duo plans to record and release an EP of dark, groovy music that grapples with the past, personal identity, love, lust and home.
For 2020, tuftyhead are receiving a grant in the amount of 4,500 euros to work on the release of their first EP.
