Portrait XO is an artist who creates musical and visual works through traditional and non-traditional methods. In collaboration with Dadabots, Portrait XO won the ›Best Experiment‹ award at VUT Indie Awards 2021, the Eurovision AI Song Contest Jury Vote for ›most creative use of AI‹ in 2020, and completed several artist residencies including NEW NOW FESTIVAL in 2021 and Factory Berlin x Sonar+D in 2020. Portrait XO researches computational creativity, human-machine collaboration, and explores new formats and applications for forward-thinking art and sound. Portrait XO holds a monthly radio residency with the art & activism collective CO:QUO (CO-CREATE STATUS-QUO) on Refuge Worldwide Radio, is growing a community of hybrid artists at SOUND OBSESSED, is a founding member of the International Association of Synaesthetes, Artists, and Scientists (IASAS), and is part of FLINT*Minted, a group of guest curators highlighting works from queer cis/trans women, non-binary, intersex and transmasculine artists in the NFTscape.
For 2020, Portrait XO receives a grant in the amount of 5,000 euros to work and develop a live performance that dynamically correlates audio and visuals.
Portrait XO receives a grant of 6,000 euros in 2022 to publish new audiovisuals that incorporate AI and a technical upgrade that will enable the production of these videos.
