At the end of the year, we look towards the future and provide an outlook on the upcoming calls for concepts for the Musicboard funding programmes. We are glad to be able to continue all funding programmes in 2024, and thus be able to again support a variety of exciting events, projects, labels, as well as diverse artists and bands. Please find an overview of all funding deadlines in 2024 below.
PROJECT FUNDING: APPLICATION DEADLINE ON 1 APRIL 2024
The project funding programmes Festival Funding, Karrieresprungbrett Berlin, and Pop im Kiez will continue regularly in 2024. The first application period for projects taking place in 2024 has already ended on 1 November 2023, the results will be announced shortly. The call for concepts for the second application period for the programmes Karrieresprungbrett Berlin and Pop im Kiez is planned for January 2024. Projects that either focus on up-and-coming musicians or the interaction between live music and its local surroundings can apply until the deadline on 1 April 2024.
LABEL FUNDING: APPLICATION DEADLINES ON 15 FEBRUARY, 15 MAY, AND 15 AUGUST 2024
Musicboard once again awards indirect artist funding to Berlin label operators within the Label Funding programme. As in 2023, the funding will be awarded three times a year, with deadlines on 15 February, 15 May 15, and 15 August 2024. The online application for the first deadline in 2024 is expected to open in the second half of January.
SUPPORT TOUR FUNDING: ONGOING UNTIL 30 NOVEMBER 2024
The Support Tour Funding programme will also be continued in 2024. The programme supports up-and-coming Berlin pop musicians who are touring nationally or internationally with a more established headlining act. The call for concepts is planned in January 2024. From then, applications can be submitted until 30 November 2024 and will be constantly reviewed.
SCHOLARSHIPS & RESIDENCIES: APPLICATION DEADLINES ON 1 MARCH AND 1 JUNE 2024
In 2024, Musicboard will again award scholarships and residencies to Berlin pop musicians and bands. The call for concepts for the Project Scholarship – awarded only once a year – and the first round of residencies will be published in January 2024. The application deadline is 1 March 2024. A second round of residencies and the Hinterhalt Commission will be announced later on with an application deadline of 1 June 2024. Which residencies are open for which application deadline will be announced in January 2024.
Up-to-date information and all calls for concepts are published four to six weeks before the respective application deadline – as usual the Musicboard informs via its newsletter and social media channels.
