Outlook for 2022

With the end of the year approaching, Musicboard would like to look ahead to the new year and the upcoming adjustments in 2022. We would like to inform you about the resumption of the programme Support Tour Funding in the funding year 2022 and the appointment of a new jury, the change of the application deadlines for the Label Funding programme as well as the relaunch of our website in a new look and with many practical features.

FUNDING IN 2022

In addition to our funding programmes Festival Funding, Karrieresprungbrett Berlin and Pop im Kiez, which will be continued in 2022, Musicboard Berlin will once again award indirect artist funding to Berlin label operators in the Label Funding programme. Instead of quarterly, the Musicboard’s Label Funding will be awarded three times a year from 2022 onwards, with new deadlines on February 15, May 15, and August 15, 2022. The online application process for the first deadline in the 2022 funding year is expected to be activated in mid-January 2022.

We are also pleased to point out that the Support Tour Funding programme will be resumed in 2022. The programme supports up-and-coming Berlin pop musicians in their plans to go on national or international tour with a more established act. Ongoing applications are expected to be possible from mid-January 2022. In addition to Sebastian Hoffmann (consultant, programme designer and organiser Down by the River Festival), who was appointed as a jury member for the Support Tour Funding programme in 2020, the funding in 2022 will be recommended by Anna Groß (artist manager and booker Springstoff). The updated call for concepts for the Support Tour Funding programme will soon be available here.
