Oihane Roach is a Berlin-based singer-songwriter and composer telling transgenerational stories of love and solidarity. With a warm, clear voice and poetic lyrics, she sings lead atop additional layers of voice that have been looped, along with harmonic keys and soft beats, offering a distinct brand of alternative pop and soul. Onstage, Roach has performed her songs solo and in various band configurations and in February 2021 released her debut EP ›Patterns‹. As part of the co-creation residency between Musicboard Berlin and the organisation Black Girls Glow in Accra, Ghana, she collaborated with other musicians on the album ›Tapestry‹, released in October 2022. Roach’s second EP ›The Revolution Starts in Our Hearts‹ is slated for release in 2023.
Oihane Roach receives a grant of 6,450 euros in 2023. In the course of the grant Oihane Roach receives coaching from Jovanka von Wilsdorf.
