Maggot Heart is the brainchild of the guitarist, singer and songwriter Linnéa Olsson. Taking cues from the rhythmic gloom of Killing Joke, the aggressive dissonance of Voivod and reflective artistry of Patti Smith – Olsson’s skill as a musician shows in her ability to connect a primal rock ‘n’ roll stomp with edge and pop sensibility. Completed by drummer Uno Bruniusson and Olivia Airey, Maggot Heart forms an undaunted, punk-souled band that roams the rock underground. Known for their intense live presence, the band also stands out through their unconventional formula of heavy music that is quite hard to pin down. Self-released via Olsson’s own label Rapid Eye Records, Maggot Heart has carved out a world for themselves with independence, dedication and aggression.
In 2018, Maggot Heart was on tour with VOIVOD and therefore received Musicboard’s Support Tour Funding.
In 2019, Maggot Heart was on tour with King Dude and therefore received Musicboard’s Support Tour Funding.
In 2021, Maggot Heart received a grant of 4,000 Euro to work on new song material.
In October 2022, Maggot Heart was on tour with Unsane and therefore received Musicboard’s Support Tour Funding.
