Lukas Oppenheimer is an interdisciplinary musician and artist, combining his influences in pop and experimental music, computer science and visual art to explore a terrain of non-classifiable art free of boundaries. Growing up in the USA and Germany led him to navigate novel forms of self-expression through digital means that did not rely on a sense of cultural heritage. In addition to practicing various forms of music, Lukas Oppenheimer is working in the field of multimedia art, playing with shades of contemporary visual practices, internet culture, data visualisations and realtime experiences and connecting these to sound. On his 2020 EP ›abstraction I‹, he showcased his creative freedom: Celebrating the introspective with solemn, meditative moments, while keeping the cathartic, noisy and restless at arm’s length to point out the endless conflict between the two.
In 2021, Lukas Oppenheimer is receiving a grant of 3,700 euros to finalize his new multimedia projects ›abstraction II‹ and ›abstraction III‹.
