In 2020, Bertil Thomas curated an interdisciplinary, four-part salon series on behalf of the artist group Die Kette, creatively questioning the conditions of the production and performance of pop music in times of the Covid-19 pandemic. Across four evenings, the queer, experimental musician Thomas – who suffers from a severe form of MS and uses a wheelchair – served as host on the open-air stage of Suicide Club. As master of ceremonies, he hosted concerts, readings, performances and a dialogical talk – bookended with his own live sound sculptures. Guests included artists such as Christiane Rösinger, Barbara Morgenstern and Marianne Enzensberger.
