Batila

Batila calls his combination of Congolese rhythms, a touch of reggae, soft jazzy vibes and some electronic sounds Bantu Soul: a fusion of all genres created and inspired by people of African descent. Batila protects, holds together and safeguards. The singer-songwriter started writing poetry at the age of ten and developed a strong connection to the urban Congolese music of the time. He fell in love with the poetry, the singing and songwriting style. Supported by companions, inspired by his ancestors and shaped by a strong awareness of his Congolese heritage, Batila defined his timbre and melodies. Batila brings the history of his country of origin closer, while reinterpreting it through interweaving delicate and refined guitar sounds.

In 2021, Batila is receiving a grant of 5,000 euros to implement promotion for his LP release.
