In 2016, B O K E H, the artistic alter-ego of New Zealand-raised and Berlin-based artist, Chloë Lewer, was born. Alternating in performance between soft dreamy vocals, sassy and powerful, yet always somewhat melancholic, B O K E H makes electronic indie pop songs with poetic lyrics that are bathed in a world of analogue synths. With a background in acting and film, B O K E H is used to coming up with characters and stories and briefly leaving in those moments of imagination. Through music, B O K E H wants to find power to live life less fearlessly and to love others and self more honestly and candidly: »I hope that by opening myself up and being vulnerable, that others relate and connect to my experience.« Chloë Lewer is also a film director and producer and creates all her visual content herself.
For 2021, B O K E H is receiving a grant in the amount of 4,000 euros to work on a debut album.
