With three application deadlines in 2022, Musicboard Berlin grants indirect artist funding to label operators who are planning specific steps to establish newcomer artists based in Berlin. The Musicboard is pleased to announce the projects funded during the third and thus last application period of the year.
The five-member expert jury received 18 applications with a total volume of 82.450,00 euros in the selection procedure of the third funding round for the Label Funding programme in 2022. For the current round six applications were recommended for funding and a total funding amount of 25.450,00 euros was awarded.
In addition to meeting the formal criteria, the jury places importance to taking into account the diversity of Berlin’s musical landscape and ensuring gender-equitable funding. The jury consisted of Sarah Farina (DJ, producer), Julia Lorenz (music journalist, author), Pamela Owusu-Brenyah (freelance A&R, music consultantand curator Pop-Kultur Festival), Thien Nguyen (label operator, DJ, music and film producer) and Katja Lucker (Managing Director Musicboard Berlin GmbH).
