The multilingual rapper Yetundey knows how to rack up points with surprises. While she oscillates among the German, English and French languages and occasionally supplements them with pidgin English and Yoruba, she uses every conceivable genre pigeonhole – only to blow them up again in the next step. Rap, pop, electro, trap, Afropop, R&B and even Eurodance find their way into her discography. The Berlin musician not only lets off steam on the mic but is also active as a songwriter, producer, music video director and dancer. Yetundey’s lyrics are upbeat, humorous and (self-)ironic on the one hand while revealing a vulnerable and reflected side on the other. Yetundey’s third EP is released in 2021 on the all-female rap label 365XX Records.
In 2021, Yetundey is receiving a grant of 6,000 euros for the production of several music videos.
