I’m bored by the ordinary.« – xanah operates as an interdisciplinary artist, predominantly active in sound and performance. Spanning pop, experimental and club music, their approach is to create something new, finding ways to unite opposites by combining modern tech perfection with the nature of basic human flaws, irrepressible thoughts and emotions: »Cold technology plays a huge role in modern life. Yet, we wouldn’t function without love or warmth. The balance is what lets the magic happen.« The influence of punk-rock, industrial techno and experimental art, formed in xanah’s perception of music in their teenage years. It allowed them to always find beauty in unconventional, harsh and messy soundscapes. Taking their influence to the next level, xanah adds their pure, longing and melancholic vocals to create a unique combination built upon pop sensuality and ambient mysticism.
xanah is receiving one of the project scholarships in the amount of 2,000 euros that in 2020 were awarded among the applicants for residencies abroad.
