Combining forces to support musical talent from Germany: with this goal in mind, Initiative Musik and the regional pop music funding organisations Musicboard Berlin, popNRW (Landesmusikrat NRW), Pop-Büro Region Stuttgart, RockCity Hamburg e. V. and Verband für Popkultur in Bayern e. V., have joined forces to present newcomers under the umbrella brand Wanderlust – New German Talent Showcase. Musicboard is pleased to be part of the format again in 2022 with three scholarship holders.
WAVES VIENNA 2022
After the umbrella brand Wanderlust, German acts will again be jointly presented to an international audience of professionals at Waves Vienna in 2022. Together, Initiative Musik gGmbH and the regional pop music funding bodies popNRW (Landesmusikrat NRW), Pop-Büro Region Stuttgart, RockCity Hamburg e. V., Verband für Popkultur in Bayern e. V. (VPBy) as well as Musicboard Berlin GmbH are bringing twelve German acts to the showcase festival. Wanderlust will host its own live stage at Vienna’s WUK Beisl over the three days of the festival between September 8 and 10. The aim of the joint appearance at the Austrian showcase festival is to sustainably increase and promote the presence of up-and-coming German acts abroad. In cooperation with Waves Vienna, Wanderlust – New German Talent Showcase presents outstanding bands and solo artists from Germany. International participants and industry representatives can connect with the German bands and their managements at a networking event on Friday, September 9, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Café Weimar. Please register here. Festival delegates are welcome to network at the joint WANDERLUST reception on Friday, September 9, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at WUK Beisl.
CONFIRMED ACTS
Besides the confirmed acts Edward Hunt, Elena Steri, Florence Besch, Lawn Chair, Levin Goes Lightly, Monako, nothhingspecial, Shitney Beers and Umme Block from Bavaria, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Hamburg and North Rhine-Westphalia, the recent Musicboard scholarship holders Christin Nichols, Minimal Schlager and Nalan will get the opportunity to perform in fornt of an international audience at Wanderlust.
