The USB community is a grassroots project that connects diverse music scenes in Berlin, from synth-pop to rap to ambient and dance music. With events, discourse programmes, radio features as well as reports, interviews and photo spreads in its own USB Magazine, the project aims to bring artists together as well as offer them a stage and media presence. In times of increasing gentrification in Berlin and the resulting displacement of subcultural locations and scenes, it is more important than ever to stand up and protect new artistic tendencies and organisations. This is exactly where USB comes in as a platform: from the community, for the community. In a democratic way, the project strives to promote and maintain diversity as well as share knowledge, resources and contacts with label operators, bookers and journalists.
