Since 2009 Trashfest has been championing unabashed outsider DIY culture within the fields of music and art. Previous editions of Trashfest have had gender-balanced line-ups featuring bands and artists from twelve different countries. After a change in hosts, the event took a break for several years. In 2019, under the direction of new curators, the Trashfest celebrated its tenth anniversary this year with a Tropical Edition. The spectators were able to experience Freak de l’Afrique, Conjunto Papa Upa and Scúru Fitchádu live.
