The concert and event series Spotlight, held at Gretchen, was created to bring women into focus on stage. Women are still underrepresented in the music sector; for example, significantly fewer women are booked through booking agencies than men. Spotlight sees itself both as support and a career boost for women already active in the business, as well as motivation and inspiration for women in the audience. In 2022, the series included concerts and club nights with Martha Rose and Queen Quali, Allysha Joy, J.Lamotta, Modesha and Jamz Supernova, among others.
