Spoon is a DJ workspace for women*, trans and non-binary people. Initiated in 2018, Spoon regularly offers practical training on turntables for DJs, whether beginners or advanced. The meetings – some of which took place online for 2020 – are led by alternating mentors who offer feedback and answer questions. In addition to the regular open-deck sessions, Spoon had a new focus in 2020 on helping artists boost their self-marketing skills, including DJ mix recording sessions, press photo opportunities and Q&A sessions with Berlin club bookers.
