Radical Sounds Latin America is not only an online platform but also a festival that presents innovative talents from Latin America and its diaspora working in the fields of sound, performance and theory. The aim is to create an ongoing, open dialogue on issues such as identity, migration and mobility while creating a space for plurality, experimentation and research.
In 2021, Radical Sounds Latin America entered its third round with a hybrid programme of events both online and in person. For this edition, the organisers collaborated with Cashmere Radio and Nuts and Bolts to once again explore contemporary and innovative music from Central and South America. Numerous musicians, artists, performers and theorists came together for workshops, lectures and live performances in the Betonhalle at silent green and on the web, featuring Leslie García, Vered Engelhard, Daniela Avellar, Ana Ruiz Valencia, Daniela Huerta and Laura Robles.
In 2022, Radical Sounds Latin America, in collaboration with artist collectives and initiatives such as Cosmoaudiciones, Soy Division and SAVVY Contemporary, welcomed the public to six days of diverse programming at silent green Kulturquartier, Panke and arkaoda Berlin, as well as various online events.
