Laurel Halo

Laurel Halo is an American electronic music composer and producer, currently based in Berlin. Since her now cult-status debut album Quarantine was released by Hyperdub in 2012, she has released a string of studio albums and EPs, ranging in sound from synth-pop to experimental, techno and ambient. Her most recent LP, Raw Silk Uncut Wood, was released by Latency in 2018. In addition to her reputation as a versatile composer, Halo is also radio and club DJ; having originally cut her teeth at the legendary freeform station WCBN-FM, she held a regular slot at the now-closed Berlin Community Radio (2014-2018) as well as a residency on London’s Rinse.FM (2018). Halo released the 68th edition of the prestigious DJ-Kicks series in 2019. She has collaborated with John Cale, Metahaven, Hodge, Eli Keszler, Julia Holter, Hatsune Miku and others.

In 2015 Laurel Halo was receiving a grant in the amount of 6,000 euros to work on her double EP ›In Situ‹.

For 2019, Laurel Halo has been granted the residency at Villa Aurora in Los Angeles.
