Lady Maru

Lady Maru started producing music in 1994 with an electric guitar, some toy percussion and a Tascam four-track recorder. She quickly became active as a noise guitarist and Casio player in various post-punk and no wave-bands. Her DJ career started in 2003 at Metaverso, a small cult club in Rome, and at underground raves and parties, with the aim of combining two influences: post-punk and techno. Her current sound is mainly based on acid techno with industrial and EBM influences. The DJ and producer has been resident at Gegen Berlin since 2018, owns her own acid techno label Acid Boiler Coalition, works with the Berlin-based label and collective Witches are Back, and makes music for other projects as well, spanning dance, theatre, performance and bands.

In 2021, Lady Maru is receiving a grant of 4,000 euros to work on new song material.
