Jessica Ekomane

As a musician and installation artist, Jessica Ekomane was one of Berlin Community Radio’s 2017 Incubator residents. Her compositions seek a cathartic effect, interspersing noise and melody and playing with listeners’ perception of rhythmic structures. Her latest project consists in a quadraphonic performance exploring the way our perception is affected by the surrounding space, introducing elements of both psychoacoustics and gestalt theory. Her installation work often looks at ambiguous images and human narratives within technological development, thereby questioning the neutrality of the rational reasoning pervading scientific advancements. She has performed and exhibited internationally across Japan, Australia and Europe.

For 2018, Jessica Ekomane is receiving a grant in the amount of 5,000 euros for the production of an album and its promotion.
