Oyèmi, Lemmy and Chris form the trio JAGUWAR, playing a mixture of noise pop, indie and shoegaze. A result of their love of experimentation, their second album ›GOLD‹ was released in autumn 2021, which can be described with the three adjectives danceable, poppy and detail-oriented. And yet ›GOLD‹ also takes a serious look at things and, on the single ›Glam & Gloom,‹ for example, deals with Oyèmi’s experience of a sexual assault. Expressing solidarity, the song acknowledges the difficulty of being able to talk about what has happened, also showing that life after the assault is possible. The visuals of the single continue the band’s experimental pursuit of new stylistic devices and are equally empowering in the process. ›Glam & Gloom‹ is JAGUWAR’s big leap forward.
In 2021, JAGUWAR is receiving a grant of 5,000 euros for the production of a music video for the single ›Glam & Gloom.‹
