The musician Ilgen-Nur, born in 1996 as Ilgen-Nur Borali in Kirchheim unter Teck, began playing piano and guitar at an early age, first writing her own songs when she was only eleven. In 2017, about one year after moving to the harbour city of Hamburg, she released her debut EP entitled ›No Emotions‹ on the Leipzig cassette label Sunny Tapes. Well received beyond the borders of Germany, the EP was praised for its »coming-of-age sound.« After numerous festival gigs, several headlining tours and a support slot for Tocotronic, her debut album ›Power Nap‹ was released in 2019. Released on her own label Power Nap Records, the album earned her a reputation as the »saviour of indie-rock« (Musikexpress).
For 2020, Ilgen-Nur has been granted the residency at Villa Aurora in Los Angeles.
