houaïda is a musician, composer, performer and graduate physicist. She is involved with inter- and transdisciplinary spaces and contributes to the deconstruction of Western and normative perceptions of sound, music, performance and modern (natural) sciences. She is inspired by scientific strategies as well as artistic practices that focus on radical sensuality, collectivity and plurirealities. Her artistic research project ›Radical Sensuality‹ was supported by Fond DaKu in 2018/19. In addition to her solo performances as houaïda at CTM 2018 supporting Holly Herndon, at Torstraßenfestival, Fuchsbaufestival and Fusion, among others, she was regularly seen as part of the performance collective TALKING STRAIGHT, with whom she was artist in residence at Maxim Gorki Theater in 2017/18. Most recently, houaïda composed the music for ›Der Platz‹, directed by Julia Wissert at Schauspiel Dortmund.
houaïda receives a grant of 5,000 euros in 2022 for the production and completion of her debut album.
