Future East Festival is a contemporary music and new media art festival. The interdisciplinary festival presents electro-acoustic, electronic, and explorative music and audio-visual performances, which focus on promoting the diversity and creativity of artists with roots in West Asia and North Africa. The project showcases innovative ideas, merging contemporary music, performing (sound)art and visual expression in both physical environments and virtual worlds. With its previous editions, Future East combined nature and architecture, and created immersive virtual environments. In 2023, Future East focuses on Biopunk and biotechnological visions and promotes up-and-coming as well as more established acts like Deena Abdelwahed, Bowland, Sara Dziri, Valentina Bellanova, and Cinna Peyghami at Musikbrauerei on October 20 and 21.
