Launched in 2020, Femme Bass Mafia is a mentorship programme dedicated to women, transgender and non-binary people for the learning and practising of DJing in a safer space. The project of a passionate music crew eases access to musical education and accompanies the mentees towards the kick start of their DJing career. Through regular workshops and training sessions during a six-months DJ mentoring programme, the project supports underrepresented artists and implements more gender diversity in the music industry. Additionally, a music production bootcamp, for which Femme Bass Mafia teams up with Ableton, further pushes their DJs’ careers and sustainability.
