Erfolg is the German-language solo project of Johannes von Weizsäcker, whom some may know as a member of the London-Berlin pop group The Chap. Since von Weisäcker was afraid of writing music with German lyrics all his life and has now reached an age where one has to face certain fears, he persuaded himself to undertake this project. The result is a series of pop miniatures, in which devastating, political and non-political stories are recounted. On stage and in recordings, Erfolg is accompanied by a ladies’ choir that describes itself as »the best ladies’ choir of all time«.
For 2014, Erfolg is receiving a grant in the amount of 7,000 euros in order to for 30 days write, record and produce a new song each day that will be made available on the following morning at 9:00 o’clock online for download.
