Genre fluid Iranian-American artist Dornika is a Berlin based musician, songwriter, fashion designer, director, activist and producer. Dornika is a staple in Berlin’s vibrant underground queer scene, and has gained a following for her ability to remain undefined; she is as versatile with her sound as she is with her looks, defying genre as well as gender expectations. Dornika’s talent in effortlessly mixing popular music with powerful political and difficult topics in a way that is easy to process for the listener is what makes this artist a unique and crucial voice in modern pop. Her work touches on themes such as body autonomy, fatphobia, queer liberation and bringing attention to world issues including the female-led revolution in Iran.
Dornika receives a scholarship of 5,000 euros in 2022 for the realisation of her debut album. In 2024, Dornika receives a scholarship of 4,500 euros to support the production of an EP.
