Unexpected calls emerge under, over and between layers of basslines, some thick and some thin. Here a voice answers, there an instrumental sample swings through the sound like a shuttlecock or is coupled with a tape delay effect. Dmitra’s music is hypnotic, whimsical and playful. It energises and deflates, ultimately leaving a feeling of longing for something that neither was nor is. For over a decade, Dmitra has been drifting through the underground club and rave scenes, first in Seattle, then in New York and now in Berlin. As a music producer, Dmitra has self-released two albums and several singles, besides composing commercial commissions for clients such as Vogue China, MCM and Art Basel.
Dmitra receives a grant of 5,000 euros in 2022 for the realisation of an EP and its marketing.
