Daniela Huerta

The work of Mexican-born Daniela Huerta hovers between performance art, sound design and multimedia projects. Under the pseudonym Baby Vulture, she developed her own eclectic form of DJing, drawing on multi-layered sources. In an almost archaeological way, she searches for specific sounds and noises, which she assembles into moving collages in space and time. Besides working on her solo project, Daniela Huerta is part of the duo Cornerbred. She also creates audiovisual narratives based on rituals and mythologies in her collaborative project Prima Materie. Daniela Huerta has presented her work at the festivals CTM, Heroines of Sound and LETRA / TONE as well as Boiler Room.

In 2021, Daniela Huerta was given one of the two domestic residencies at Sternhagen Gut in the Uckermark region of Germany. During her residency, Daniela Huerta was mentored by Gudrun Gut.
