Chrisman is one of the rising stars of the new electronic scene in Congo, his tracks tearing down the boundaries between gqom, tarraxinha, soukous and Afro house. With his first EP ›Ku Mwezi‹ released in November 2021, the producer, rapper, DJ and songwriter gained international attention. His first full-length album ›Makila‹ is a personal musical exploration full of minimalist, multi-layered beats and tarraxinha sounds. In his bass-heavy DJ sets, Chrisman champions Afrocentric sounds with international influences ranging from São Paulo to London.
Chrisman is awarded the 2023 co-creation residency in Berlin, Germany and Kampala, Uganda, under which he collaborates with Berlin-based Sara Persico.
