Choka is a new collaboration between multidisciplinary artist Maque Pereyra and experimental musician Ricardo Eizirik. They started creating music together in 2022 with the intention of expending their individual practices fusing elements of contemporary urban latin-american music with more experimental, noise, industrial and club elements. They developed an intense visual image coupled with playful lyrics mainly in Spanish and English and music that is at times brash and dark.
In 2023, Choka is granted one of the two domestic residencies at HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts in Dresden.
