Peppi and Mela find each other on Instagram during the Covid-19 pandemic, start rehearsing and come to the quick realisation that it’s a fit. As CAVA, the two musicians roam the vast expanses of garage rock and punk. CAVA are experimental, DIY, emotional and loud, with dirty guitar riffs and piercing feedback. In their lyrics you can find personal stories as well as political motifs. On the duo’s EPs released so far, a repudiation of mansplaining meets spiders and other surprises in an absurd yet serious way. CAVA have been part of the GRRRL Noisy Universe since its inception, contributing to FLINTA* visibility and support in the music industry.
CAVA receive a grant of 5,000 euros in 2022 to work on an album debut.
