Once again, silent green is opening its doors wide and invites you to its open house and winter festival on the first weekend in December. You can look forward to concerts, DJ sets, film screenings, market stalls, historical guided tours, and warm and wintery treats. As part of the silent green community, Musicboard presents three concerts by current and former grantees Sleepwalk the Dog and Matching Outfits on Saturday, as well as Kota No Uta on Sunday.
Sleepwalk the Dog Sleepwalk the Dog has been described as “folk from another planet”. Folk melodies are blended with jazzy three-part vocal harmonies and avant-garde experimental elements to create something that is simultaneously surreal and beautiful. Expect a day full of dreams.
Matching Outfits are a trio of adopted Berliners whose warped, wistful take on indie pop has been compared to “a Super 8 film from the family attic” (Tip Magazine). The lyrics of Swedish frontwoman Linnea Mårtensson capture life’s major losses and minor inconveniences in gut-wrenching, occasionally hilarious detail, while bright keyboard chords and dulcet three-part harmonies morph into discordant freakouts and shout-along choruses. In 2022, the group released its debut album ›Band Made Out Of Sand‹ on Berlin cassette label Kitchen Leg.
Kota No Uta is a Berlin-based artist, producer, and singer-songwriter. Her experimental sound blends neo-psychodelic-soul and nu jazz creating a unique musical experience. As a multicultural storyteller, Kota draws inspiration from metaphor and mythology, often reflecting on daily observations of her surroundings in her lyrics. Together with Aktino Troubounis on double bass, Adam Gintowt on percussion, Tim Granbacka on keys, and Tom Varral on guitar, they create a truly immersive experience for their audience, evoking the feeling of being lost in the woods and sharing beautiful moments together.
