The Great Escape 2026: ZEITGEIST Showcase & Reception

Seven German music export and funding organisations present emerging artists to an international professional audience on May 15 in Brighton (UK).

The ZEITGEIST Showcase at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton (UK) has, in recent years, established itself as one of the flagship formats of German music export and a key platform for emerging pop acts from Germany. This year, the regional music funding organisations once again join forces to present eight promising acts from Germany to an international audience of industry professionals on May 15.

The line-up features Atomic Lobster (Stuttgart), Lina-Mariah (Hamburg), Lisl (Würzburg), Power Plush (Chemnitz), Roomer (Berlin), Sorvina (Berlin), Spiral Drive (Mannheim), and Suzan Köcher’s Suprafon (Solingen), bringing together exciting newcomers and rising acts from across the country.

New this year: BPM Sachsen and Pop-Büro Region Stuttgart join the network, expanding the showcase’s partnership. Together with popNRW, RockCity Hamburg e.V., Musicboard Berlin, Verband für Popkultur Bayern, and German Music Export by Initiative Musik, a total of seven organisations are collaborating for the first time. The export collaboration between German music funding organisations and the renowned The Great Escape Festival in Brighton has been in place since 2017. Numerous German acts have used the ZEITGEIST Showcase as a springboard in the past, including internationally successful artists such as Giant Rooks, Ilgen-Nur, and KYTES.

The ZEITGEIST Reception kicks off at 11:30 a.m. at Patterns Upstairs, offering opportunities for informal exchange and networking. Followed by the ZEITGEIST Showcase at 12:15 p.m., featuring performances across both the Upstairs and Downstairs stages. The showcase is open to all delegates and festival ticket holders. The reception is open to delegates only. Please register in advance via Eventbrite.

In addition to their performances at the joint showcase, the German acts will also perform as part of the official festival programme.

MUSICBOARD PRESENTS: SORVINA

Sorvina is a New York-born, Berlin-based artist whose music is rooted in storytelling and shaped by movement, memory, and identity. With a sound that bridges jazz rap, neo-soul, gospel, and alternative hip-hop, Sorvina crafts songs that feel both personal and expansive—tapping into the emotional weight of lived experience while inviting listeners to find their own reflections in her words. Inspired by the dynamism of Black musical traditions and the rhythm of her own journey, Sorvina’s work explores themes of self-discovery, queerness, healing, and joy.
