A place where society comes together, a place of both accidental and informal meetings, a public place: the pub. The future doesn’t look particularly bright for Berlin’s »Eckkneipen,« or corner pubs. For many of them, rising rents and ever-fewer customers or no customers at all point to imminent extinction. The Neukölln corner bar Stammtisch is an example of one of Berlin’s endangered corner pubs. The event series 7 Minutes Of Fame directly responds to this drastically-changing neighbourhood culture. Four times per year, the stage of Stammtisch welcomes music, poetry, dance, and performance by various artists – pop culture meets neighbourhood culture. In 2019, the event series was back for round two.
