Saba Lou Khan grew up with R&B, soul, punk, spiritual space jazz and classic rock’n’roll. Her debut single, released when she was just six years old, is about her first day at school after moving to Berlin. Her second single, ›Good Habits and Bad‹, was recorded when she was nine and was chosen, among other things, for the credits of the Cartoon Network series Clarence. At sixteen, she released her first album, ›Planet Enigma‹, and began playing solo gigs throughout Europe.
For Saba Lou’s second record, ›Novum Ovum‹ (2019), she recruited three of her good friends from Berlin’s garage punk and jazz scenes: Oska Wald, Amit Alcalai-Duvnjak and Omri Gondor (the latter two from The Gondors). Saba Lou performs in many different languages. Her ethereal voice and powerful lyrics turn her music and performances into a timeless maelstrom of harmony and philosophy.
Saba Lou receives a scholarship of 6,000 euros in 2024 for the production and release of a concept album.
