In 2020, selected scholarship holders will again have the opportunity to receive individual musicians’ coaching with Jovanka von Wilsdorf in addition to their scholarships.
“Working with Jovanka has helped me get a clearer idea of what I want my art to look, taste and feel like. I always leave her place feeling clear-headed and inspired. She has the gift of seeing and nurturing an artists potential.” – Tara Nome Doyle | Scholarship Holder 2019
“I was very happy to meet and connect with Jovanka and get the coaching over the time we had. It’s very rare as an artist, that someone will give you their most honest feedback and also bring forth blind spots you may have missed or been un-aware of. Some moments were hard to hear, though I think were necessary in helping me to open up new space to work on those areas. I felt a newfound confidence boost in my artist soul and vision and where I want to go with my music.” – MIKEY. | Scholarship Holder 2019
The coaching includes six individual sessions as well as two group workshops for all of the scholarships holders receiving coaching in 2020. The contents of the coaching sessions are tailored to the needs of the individual musicians. Possible focuses might include career mapping, development of the artist’s unique selling points, addressing (writer’s) blocks, and development of an efficient workflow.

The coaching will be given exclusively in connection with the award of a Musicboard scholarship in the 2020 funding round. It is intended for solo musicians, duos, and bands. Coaching can be applied for within the online application form for scholarships. In the description of the artistic project and motivation, the applicant should devote one paragraph to the subject of coaching. She or he should describe why coaching makes sense at this point in her/his career, designate a desired topic or area of focus, and state was she/he expects to gain from the coaching. All application-related information and the link to the online form can be found here.
