Annual Report 2025

In 2025, Musicboard received around 1,000 funding applications. A total of €2.1 million in funding was awarded. Due to cuts to the Berlin state budget, the number of projects that Musicboard was able to support this year saw a significant drop, with lower levels of funding awarded compared to previous years. While all funding programmes and structures were retained, this still represented a significant setback for Berlin’s music scene. Supporting it sustainably and in all its diversity is particularly important in what are already difficult times.

The Fête de la Musique once again offered an impressive display of musical diversity in 2025: with over 1,000 concerts at nearly 300 venues and more than 100,000 visitors across all twelve Berlin districts, the city was transformed into one vast stage. And from 25 to 30 August 2025, Pop-Kultur Festival converted familiar and new venues across the city into stages, meeting points and spaces for experimentation, bringing together Berlin’s local and international music scenes. For the first time over six days, the festival welcomed established professionals and emerging industry talent, while also reinventing itself.
